Weekend Wanderings: March 1st

Weekend Wanderings is back! Here are a few links and best posts I’ve read from the last few weeks:

For all of us who feel we are just too busy, Donald Miller offers some great tips in How I Learned Not to Be Overwhelmed. (This is by the way the standard response to the “How are you?” question in America – “Busy”).

Michael Hyatt words something I have observed in leadership for years so well in “Leadership and the Law of Replication” Plain and simple, people do what we do? If you don’t like something in your team, look in the mirror. A must read!

Seth Caddell weighs in on a topic getting a lot of press, Christians response to politics with “They Will Know We ARe Christians by our..Political Opinions?”

Two news stories having to do with heroes are worth sharing here on the Wanderings:
1. One of my heroes, C. Everett Koop passed away. He was a faithful believer who made a huge difference in the medical and political arena.

2. A fallen hero, Oscar Pistorius (the Blade Runner) is arrested for murder in South Africa. This article does a brilliant job of exposing many of the tensions and issues we face living and working in South Africa.

Remember the whole Chick-Fil-A controversy last year over the company’s stand on the definition of marriage.?

Well, hidden behind the headlines is an incredible story of people treating people like…well, people! Read the inside story from Christianity today entitled  “Chick-Fil-A’s Lesson on Loving Your Enemies“. Then, even more telling, read the account of a new-found friendship from the activist who spearheaded the protest on the Huffington Post, entitled “My Coming Out as a Friend of Dany Cathy and Chick-Fil-A.”

These two posts fit in very nicely with the most popular post on NoSuperHeroes in February. Surviving in an Anti-God Society quickly became on of the most read posts of all time and was picked up on a number of other sites. Take a Look!
